Samir Saini got his start working at various departments within GE, where he also qualified for GE’s Information Technology Leadership Program. His path would eventually lead Samir Saini to become the CIO of the City of Atlanta responsible for all IT services in the city, including the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. He knows full well what a challenge it can be to run such a busy operation.
The average person would probably never guess that the busiest airport in the whole world is the Hartsfield–Jackson Airport in Atlanta. The main factor that contributes to this assertion is its location. Atlanta is a major hub for connecting the United States domestically and internationally.
According to estimations made by the airport, 80 percent of the population of the US lives within a two-hour flight of Atlanta’s airport. But that’s not the whole story. Another big factor is Delta Air Lines. The air-transport titan makes its home at Hartford-Jackson contributing significantly to the total number of incoming and outgoing flights.
